DBS Giving Tree

DBS Giving Tree 1000 790 Design Business Chamber Singapore

Recognising the considerable waste generated from holiday festivities, DBS came up with this Christmas decoration to give back to the planet. Made with upcycled wood from used shipping pallets, the trees were repurposed as Chinese New Year decorations and thereafter as fixtures in the DBS Treasures Lounge at Changi Airport Terminal 3. Decorations were also made entirely from sustainable materials.

We are excited to be a recipient of the inaugural 2021 SG Mark Award for Sustainable Design. Sustainability has always been at the core of DBS’ purpose-driven DNA. We strive to embed sustainability in everything we do, and the birth of this project stems from a question that we asked ourselves:

“What if our decorations made the earth better?”

Rooted in our drive to be more involved in the circular economy and achieve net zero energy operations, the DBS Giving Tree project is a ground-up initiative that demonstrates the small ways we can contribute to changes in our surroundings, play our part and give back to the community and planet even during the festive season, and inspire more sustainable actions every day!
